My Day

Today was my birthday! The celebration started last night when Tom brought roses home and we had chocolate cupcakes after dinner (mine had 3 candles, since I am still barely in my 30s)...we wanted a celebration with candles with the kids.

This morning the kids gave me a nice frame to go with their latest studio pictures (which were ready today, but we didn't get around to picking them up). When I was unwrapping Tom's gift, I said, "What, is it Parenting for Dummies?" Nope, next best thing. This doesn't mean Tom wants me to be a bartender or worse, a lush, but maybe he wants me to start studying for Jeopardy! Nope, he knows I'm always googling drink recipes, so now I don't have to!

This afternoon, I had a two hour nap. That might have been the best part of my birthday!

Tonight Tom and I went to dinner at Original Mike's. We hadn't been there before and it was very fun! Huge servings (I brought back half my dinner and 2/3 of my dessert), great entrees and nice decor. When we arrived home, I was serenaded on the answering machine by Tom's parents with their harmonious rendition of "Happy Birthday". All in all, a very nice birthday celebration. I should do it again next year!

Hi Cindy,

Glad to hear that you had a wonderful birthday. I'm afraid my card might not have arrived on time (which means the joke will not be as cleaver). Please accept our best wishes for your big day. Love, Chris and Jim

Wow - a two hour nap on your birthday - that is truly a well deserved present.
Many good wishes for this coming year - strengths, joy, faith, support - and yes, many more good naps!
