Language update 3

I mentioned yesterday that Natalie's verbal response time to answering questions has improved significantly. The other thing Tom and I have noticed is that she's now saying the end of words better...saying the ending consonant of words.

Here's another video that shows her using 3-4 word sentences and saying the end of words ("ice cream"...a favorite word!) You'll see that sometimes she gets "stuck" in repeating words in the sentence, and that using signs helps her keep going with the sentence. It used to be the same with one-word responses: she signed and spoke the word at the same time, and now with one-word responses she pretty much just speaks and doesn't sign. With sentences, especially those sentences that are practiced at school and in therapy, she uses signs a lot.

Natalie - we are HUGE fans of yours here. You got it going on, girlfriend! And I'm so glad your parents and your brothers get to chat with you about what's going on in your remarkable noggin.

Cheers to you, beautiful girl.
