What Natalie wants

Today was an eye-opening experience...Natalie showed a lot more preferences about things than she has before (or that we've noticed before). At park day she was very fussy as I held her and talked to the other moms, but when I put her in the swing, she was happy and laughing. I read this to mean, "Hey Mom, I know the park is for playing, so let me play!" Again this afternoon in the front yard, she was upset that Lukas got in the swing before her (this is how I interpreted it), but when I put her in, she was happy and laughing.

I'm starting to read her cries as more being upset with the situation, and look for a way to change the situation. It's too bad that she can't speak, or even really gesture toward something that she wants. We're hoping that she'll pick up sign language. We've been working on a few signs: eat, more, all done, bath, milk. Today I added swing (I remembered it from the Signing Times show).
