We were very excited to have Carl and Carla, and their sons Corby, Chaz and Christo, over to our house last night. Lukas was also very excited to have them come over, since he enjoys playing at their house so much. We had a great time talking with them and sharing dinner and a game of Apples to Apples with them.
When it's just Tom and me at home for dinner, Lukas tries to participate in the conversation by interrupting us with questions, or even by contributing to the conversation. But last night, with so many people in the house, he tried a new strategy to participate: laughing really loudly. I was a little confused about it, and asked Lukas to not laugh so loud, taking him away from the dinner table to talk. But he kept doing it. He was a little over stimulated by the excitement, too. When we were talking about it after our guests left, Tom said, "he was just trying to participate." Of course, that was the answer, but I didn't get it because it had never really happened before (sometimes it takes me a while to catch on). So next time I'll try to include him in the conversation so he can participate in a less irritating way.
