Today while on a date with Lukas, we drove in an area that we rarely visit, and passed by a certain children's restaurant with a mouse logo.
Lukas: "I've never been to that restaurant before."
Me (hoping he was talking about the Mimi's Cafe but suspecting he wasn't): "Which restaurant?"
Lukas: "The one with the, uh, uh, uh, Mickey Mouse on it"
Me: "It wasn't Mickey Mouse, but another mouse. Nope, you've never been to that restaurant before." Notice how I don't give him the name of the restaurant. That's part of my PR training: never repeat back the negative thing the reporter asks.
Lukas "I think I would like that restaurant."
Me: I have no idea what I said outloud, but inside I was thinking, "Yes, you probably would, but I will put it off as long as possible (until he's invited to a birthday party, or something)."
Look back in a year or two and see if we're actually hosting Lukas' birthday party there.
