Today Lukas and I had a date while Cammie watched Natalie. We went to the car wash, shared a breakfast at IHOP, bought $4 worth of cheap toys at the 99 cent store...which is how much some of those toys should cost, but at another store they would be $4 or $5 each. We went to Target since it is next to the 99 cent store, but the highlight was going to Tom's Farms.
The Tom's Farms we go to is mostly a fresh produce stand, but outside in the parking lot they have two ancient, rusting tractors. Lukas loves to sit on them and "drive" them, asking me what all the levers and pedals do, and turning the steering wheel. They also have old farm scales--much better for jumping on than our bathroom scales at home. After "riding the rides" we did purchase some produce...after lifting Lukas up to shake the wind chimes they're selling. It is so relaxing to go out with just one child, and to do so for his benefit, not because I have a list of things to accomplish.
Lukas says, "Do you call Daddy Tom?" Well, no, I call him Honey Bear, but his name is Tom!
