The sweetest word to a mother's ears...

...after I "love" you, is probably "please."

Today Natalie said "please" in sign, and maybe even verbally!

This morning Christina, Natalie's OT, was working with her on feeding, and when Christina offered oatmeal to Natalie, Natalie verbally said, "eese". I was further away and I thought she said "eale", as in "oatmeal," but Christina was pretty sure it was "please."

Then a couple seconds later, when Christina asked her if she wanted "more," Natalie signed "more" and then tapped her chest with both hands. Tapping her chest with one hand is "please," so Christina was pretty sure she meant, "please."

I wasn't convinced, because I've worked on "please" for so long with Natalie and haven't seen her do it at all, but sure enough, she continued to sign "please."

Later this morning I took Natalie and Lukas to Costco, and when we had lunch of pizza and ice cream before shopping, she signed "more, please" the whole time! Now I'm convinced!

Way to go, Natalie!
