I was nursing Konrad and I had a sudden flashback to almost four years ago.
When you're nursing a newborn, you have a lot of time on your hands. There are some things you can multitask and do at the same time, but you have to pretty much be sitting down. So reading, talking on the phone, watching TV are common options (or when feeding him during the night, I simply struggle to stay awake). Did I mention it takes a lot of time? Eight feedings a day, at 30 minutes per feeding, that's four hours a day. Every day. For months...
After Lukas was born, almost four years ago, I made a decision to spend a good part of that four hours per day in prayer for Tom to get a new job. I often watched television or talked on the phone while nursing, but I did spend a good part of the time praying for God to provide Tom with a new job.
As Lukas had fewer feedings per day and was finally weaned, I didn't have that special prayer time anymore. With Natalie, I pumped to feed her (not conducive to prayer), so I had completely forgotten about this time until today when I had a deja vu moment and remembered it.
Praise God for his answer to my prayers and yours. His answer didn't come in my time (it doesn't usually), but we continue to be SO thankful for Tom's new job.
