Earthquake damage

Here's a picture of the only "damage" we could find at our home after today's 5.4 earthquake. Tom bought this marble bear from a Pueblo Indian in New Mexico on one of our vacations bk (before kids), and it fell over on our fireplace mantle. If it had fallen off, it would have hit the stone hearth and probably broken, but instead it just toppled and will live to see another earthquake. We are thankful to have no damages or injuries.

It's funny to watch the news and see the hype over the earthquake...it didn't seem that big to us. Tom said he heard that they're calling this the first major earthquake in Southern California since the last 1994 Northridge earthquake, and that's the reason everyone's getting excited. But we seem to recall equally strong quakes in the Palm Springs/El Centro area in the past decade...and Palm Springs is in Southern California!

Wake me when it's over 6.0.

That's one thing I definitely don't miss about SoCal, they not only scare me, but make me sick to my stomach. Glad to hear there was no damage and everyone is safe!

I'm glad you all are safe. Just a few things from certain rooms broke in our house, but the most important thing is that everybody is safe.
