Story time

Natalie wanted me to read a book this morning while I wanted to get some other stuff done before we left for the morning. Lukas was a good stand-in for me. He's memorized "Owl Babies" and read the whole thing to Natalie, much to her delight, as he turned each page.

I don't remember him ever reciting the whole book before, but after the first few pages I realized he was going to do the whole book, so I turned on the camera (this is about half way through the book).

I love Natalies giggle after you explain what ivy is. And what a great big brother just holding her hand gently even though she is trying to turn the page.

That is absolutely adorable. Lukas is such a great big brother. He didn't even get frustrated with Natalie for trying to turn the page!

Oh, crikies - I am bawling. We love owl babies, too! But Lukas' expressive and patient reading to his sister is something we'll click on again and again. His natural way of holding her hand and using it to turn the page when it was time is such a great metaphor for too many things to recount here. I didn't expect Owl Babies to be a tear jerker, but Lukas taught me something new! Cheers to your beauties.
