Warning: This post is about poop. Standard poop disclaimer (but this is not a gross poop story).
I walked into the living room this morning with the three kids watching Thomas the Tank Engine and smelled the smell. I said, "Who is poopy?" Of course, no one answered me. Lukas knows it's a rhetorical question, and Natalie and Konrad don't answer.
I said, "I'm guessing it's you, Konrad," and picked him up. Now that he's eating solid food, I can't tell the difference between him and Natalie by the smell.
Then Natalie spoke, "Me!"
I turned around and looked at her and she was walking toward me with her arms raised up.
I said, "Are you poopy, Natalie?" And she kept smiling and raising her arms.
Konrad went down on the floor and I picked Natalie up and kept asking her, "Are you poopy, Natalie?" as I carried her to the changing table. She kept smiling at me.
On the changing table, Natalie spoke, "I'm poopy!"
Natalie's most recognizable sentence ever. I think she's said, "I love you" before, but it hasn't been super recognizable. But I think most people would have understood what Natalie said this morning.
We're all choked up here at The Happy Ones.
I had to take a picture of her for this post, so here she is, right after telling me about her diaper needs, putting on one of Lukas' shoes.

Wow, what a moment! Yesterday, Austin babbled mama and then baba while we were at the dr.'s office. I tried to get another baba out of him thinking he was asking for his brother (andrew used to pronounce it brubber) but no such luck. =)
I got chills as I read this post!
What a wonderful day!!!!
I am so happy for you all.. That is great. Way to go Natalie. Keep it up.
I'm sobbing, just weeping. That's a double whammy - speaking and precursor to potty training! Wow. Just wow. Tell Natalie I said wow.
Wow, is right! Too bad she hasn't spoken since then...or at least nothing we recognize. But she's still babbling a lot, we think in jargon she understands, but we don't.
