Here's an example of how Natalie continually surprises us with the little things.
One of the best ways to get Natalie to play on her belly is to give her wood puzzles to play with. We have two Melissa and Doug wooden puzzles, one with animals and one with a transportation theme.
This week I introduced the wooden number puzzle (0-9) and to my surprise, Natalie did great, finding where all the numbers go.
Today I brought out the alphabet puzzle, and Natalie was definitely game to put all the pieces in, although she tires of being on her belly before all 26 pieces have been placed. Here she is trying to find where "M" goes, and then offering it to me to "fix"...Natalie's speech therapist has taught her to hand things to someone when she doesn't know how it works, or when she needs it turned on...so she's constantly handing me the fridge magnet game to turn on.
I am--and I guess I shouldn't be--surprised at how well Natalie does with puzzles. She keeps trying to make a piece fit, and if it doesn't fit, she looks for another place for it.

I have really been working on longer tummy time for AnnaKate too..it has been a real trick!
AnnaKate also loves puzzles and I feel guilty for being so surprised at how good she is at them.
