Together

I've mentioned that it's cute to see Natalie and Konrad playing together. Here, instead of stealing cups from one another, they each decided to drink from their own cup...together.

And...

Thanks for your prayers for Natalie's assessment by the school district tomorrow morning, 8:30 a.m. Pacific time. It should last about two hours. Tom and I are excited about starting the process, and hopeful that we'll begin a good relationship with the school district.

There will be 3-4 people at the assessment: a psychologist, a nurse, a speech pathologist and perhaps an adaptive physical education specialist. They'll see what Natalie can do, and from coming to know her, recommend at least one school and hopefully several that we will visit before we decide which school she goes to.

The way special ed classes work (at least in our area) is that different elementary schools have different programs for different kinds of kids (mild to moderate retardation vs. moderate to severe retardation). And I think within those broad categories, each school may focus on different things. Our hope is that by kindergarten (two years from now) Natalie would be able to be in a blended classroom, where there are both typical and special ed kids.

It's exciting to see what God has in store for our little girl!
