Blue

It seems like the last couple nights I have forgotten to start the dishwasher, and when we wake up in the morning, there are no clean sippy cups. So, for the past two mornings, I've given Natalie some milk in an open cup, since I've had the time to closely supervise her breakfast.

She does great drinking from an open cup...very careful, doesn't spill much, doesn't tip the cup over. I'm just afraid that when she's not paying attention, she'll knock it over, which she does often with her sippy cup.

But the exciting thing this morning was that she said "bol" while pointing to the cup, and signed (her approximation--see the picture!) "blue". She was telling me that the cup was blue! I've been working on colors with her so much, but it doesn't seem like colors click for her, so this morning seemed to be a true breakthrough.

After we came back from therapy, I gave her a little more milk in the same blue cup, and asked her what color it was. She signed "blue". When I said, "Say it with your mouth," she said, "bol" again.

Go Natalie!

Wow, she`s, both drinking from a open glass and signing blue! She can do a lot of sign? How old where she whe she startet to show sign? We`ve been signing with Hannah for a year now, but she dosen`t show any signs yet.

Natalie has about 30-40 signs...many of them look the same, but by the context we know what she's saying. I think she started signing "more" at about 15 months or so. After that, there weren't a lot of signs until about 6 months ago.
