Taking advantage of the visitor in our house, we went to the Aquarium of the Pacific midweek. I didn't have any thought that I could take the three kids there by myself, but after going, I definitely know we aren't ready for an outing like that without another adult.
Kathrin and I spent a lot of time making sure Natalie and Konrad didn't run off. For Natalie, she always wanted to join any pre-school or kindergarten group she saw there (and there were a lot of classes there!) And this was the first time Konrad had been to the aquarium since he was walking. The last time we went, we had to carry him, so it was fun to see him venture off on his own and see what he wanted to look at first. The biggest fear I had was that Natalie would wander off and get on an elevator with another group and I wouldn't know that she was on another floor of the building. Thankfully, we all made it home without any "lost children" calls over the public address system.
We still beat the crowds by arriving before it opened at 9 a.m., and were out of there by noon, after lunch and feeding the lorakeets. You will notice Lukas wearing another shirt in the last picture...the first shirt got very wet in the water play area. It was a very fun outing!

wow, that looks like sooo much fun! Austin loves aquariums! We're heading to the Boston one this summer and I can't wait! Wish we had an aquarium nearby.
