Have trowel, will travel

I am a mere mortal even when I perform my superhuman feats of gardening. What or who can defeat my natural skills of concentration and horticulture?

My son, Lukas.

I was defeated yesterday morning by the cuts of a thousand questions. Mind you, I do encourage dialogue and I consider Lukas a proto-horticulturist himself, but...

Lukas was helping me re-pot some of my epiphylums, but the shear weight of questions was straining my ability to remember what I was doing. Before I lost it, I had to think of something quick to save my sanity and help both of us to be able to work together in the yard. The seed of the idea came from Lukas' observation while collecting rocks from the gravel pile. "Dad, there is some poop over here."

After identifying it as possom poop, I thought of a great chore for Lukas. I gave him a trowel and sent him on a collection quest in the yard. To my delight he discovered the prefered potties for our resident possom. He would report back to me every minute or so of his most recent find, with more details than need to be included in this post. My sanity was restored and Lukas performed a valuable task in our backyard garden.
