We braved a traffic jam to enjoy a beautiful trip to the beach. Not a traffic jam on the road, but in the surf. There were SO many surfers out today, because the waves were so excellent. Coupled with the sun burning off the low clouds shortly after we arrived, it couldn't have been much more beautiful.
And it seems like every trip to the beach is the same for our family...Natalie and Lukas played in the surf, Konrad played in the sand, and Tom and I traded off playing in the water or playing in the sand.
Today Konrad willingly played in the water for about 10 minutes (although we have no pictures to prove it)...the water is much warmer (by Pacific standards) than it has been for us this year. But the biggest milestone for our family is this is the first time Tom and I haven't carried any kids across the sand OR back. That is a huge accomplishment for both Natalie and Konrad that they're able to walk more than 100 yards through the sand to the water's edge...and Tom and I really appreciate it!

We love beach trips too but we like to go at dusk. Noah hates the beach when its sunny. Looks like a great day.
