Our pediatrician has several Saturday clinics where ALL they do is administer flu shots. We love to do this (if the kids haven't already gotten a flu shot from a previous visit), because we're in and out in less than 10 minutes with shots for all three kids.
Lukas did well this year, only a little anticipatory worry, and no crying after the actual shot. He knows it's only going to hurt 2 seconds, but he still gets worried. Natalie and Konrad just had their brief cries out and were fine.
And the treat for the kids is a visit to Krispy Kreme afterward. Since Tom is along, we can actually get out of the car (instead of going through the drivethrough, which is my treat method when I'm alone) and watch the donut factory for 20 minutes.
Lukas and Natalie enjoyed wearing hats, but Konrad wasn't interested in a hat. But he enjoyed half a glazed original, fresh off the line. Natalie spent most of the time admiring herself in the reflection, and Lukas watched to see which donuts didn't flip properly and ended up being duds. It's cheap, fun entertainment!

one of these days, I'll get to enjoy a fresh Krispy Kreme. We don't have an 'actual' bakery here. We have gas stations that sell them and that's it. I've never been in a Krispy Kreme Store!
