My kid's dream day...

...and it was free!

We went to a Public Works Open House in a local city this weekend and the kids had a blast checking out the heavy equipment.

Seeing a street sweeper up close and personal was a real treat.  And they got to touch the scrubbers!

Natalie was the only one interested in seeing a costume character...the boys are not comfortable with them, although they might be interested in ones they know at Disneyland.  Here's Natalie meeting Ginny Groundwater...it was actually one of my jobs to get Ginny produced as a costume character at my career-before-being-a-mom.  It's nice to see she's still around six years later!

And then there were the myriad of things on wheels that the kids got to climb up in.  Trash truck:  check.  Police car:  check.  Police motorcycle: check.  Fire engine:  check.  See if you can find the four members of our family in this picture:

And Konrad sure has some cheesy grins when he's happy!  Everytime he sees a motorcycle, he yells, "Mama, cycle!"

You can see why this was a dream day for the kids!  Tom and I had a fun time too!
