Yesterday the weather turned cooler and windy, and today was windy all day. Thankfully it was cool and dry instead of hot and dry with the winds. Our Chinese Elm trees started shedding their seed pods, so it almost looked like snow coming down, and the drifts of seeds on the ground definitely moved like snow.
This morning when it was mostly still Lukas suggested sweeping up the seeds, which Konrad immediately wanted to copy. As you can see, there was a lot of moving the seeds around, and Lukas actually scooped up quite a few seeds into the trash can. Konrad tried to empty a scoop of seeds into the trash can, but he ended dumping them into his upturned face with open mouth...so he wasn't ready to repeat that any time soon.
When we went outside to play this afternoon, Lukas wanted to sweep some more, but it was too windy so I vetoed the idea. But they all had a blast running around in the wind, and Natalie loved swinging in the wind. It was a fun day!
And maybe the leaves will be ready to get blown off the trees the next time we have a windy day.

It looks like they had an absolute ball...well, if ever they run out of sweeping material, we've loads of leaves on our side...okay, so maybe the distance might be a bit tricky!
Poor Konrad! LOL
