After weeks and weeks of warmer-than-the-rest-of-the-country weather, it's finally not sunny. And there is rain projected for the next 10 days, so we could be having a lot of flooding in the local mountains. But where we live, on the flat lands nearer the ocean, it floods because the water can't flow down hill fast enough to make up for what's coming out of the sky.
And the winds were so strong today during lunch that a tree in our neighborhood fell over. Hmmm. Wondering about the two big trees in our front yard. I'm very glad we had them trimmed last month, so there aren't as many leaves and branches to catch the wind. On the way back from seeing the tree, Lukas decided to spend the next hour splashing in the storm drain. There was not a stitch of clothing on him that was dry. His boots were full of water (if you're going to get wet, you may as well get wet!) Why do I even bother to put a jacket and boots on him?
But a hot shower and a cup of hot chocolate warmed him right up!
I'm sure we'll have more weather postings in the next few weeks. I'm glad for the rain, but we're praying for those who had brush fires near their homes last year...that will make mudslides and flash floods much more dangerous.
I hear chainsaws...Lukas wants to go watch the tree get cut up.

We had crazy wind here last night too! lots of Power outages and debris everywhere! Yup it's that time of year!
Looks like Oregon 250 days a year. Boy oh boy do we get our share of that stuff!
