Sunny days

I know the rest of the country is dealing with very cold weather...and even though we currently have warm weather, a friend of Tom's who has kept track of daily weather at his home for the past nine years said this winter is also our coolest since he's been keeping track.  It must have been those few days of very cold (for us) weather that took us down, because it's seemed warm to me...I think it's the long stretches of high 70s that fool me.  It just goes to show that "impressions" can be faulty.  But don't worry, there's probably rain just around the corner (I hope!)

Anyway, Lukas asked for sunglasses the other day.  I didn't know where his were, so I gave him Konrad's, which of course meant Konrad wanted them right away.  Konrad still doesn't keep them on his face well (maybe because they're just a little too big for him), but he sure enjoys playing with them!

When he finally gets them on, he looks very California cool!

Natalie and Konrad love sitting in their lawn chairs together, gifts from Aunt Patrice (the blue chair was originally given to Lukas, but it fits Konrad better now and Lukas is happy to sit in a big chair).

But Natalie's favorite thing is the swing.  This is how she spins herself in the swing.  She didn't used to like spinning so much, and she still doesn't spin super fast, but she does enjoy it, where she used to not enjoy spinning.

You can see how Tom had to put a rubber mat into the grass because the grass was so worn away...from what Natalie is doing (normal swinging doesn't cause such a big bare spot).

And she still enjoys swinging like a big girl on the swing, which requires someone to put her in the swing and also push her (and I do it several times each day), but this she can do on her own.
