Music to my ears

There was actually GREAT cacophony going on during the jam session pictured below, so let me explain.

Friday is housecleaning day (I know, I should break it up into smaller bits, but I don't) which starts with vacuuming.  Natalie and Konrad love to help vacuum:  Konrad uses the old Shark vacuum (really runs and picks up dirt) and Natalie is happy to push the tubes from our large vacuum around (not connected to anything, not picking up dirt).  Lukas is putting away toys in another room while I actually vacuum.

No, I am not nesting yet, but I felt the need to do an especially thorough vacuuming job (maybe because it wasn't done last Friday?) so it took me about an hour to vacuum all the bare floors, all the carpets, use the crevice tool to get in the corners and under the furniture, etc...ok, I'm also almost 32 weeks pregnant, so I'm slow and getting more tired by the minute!  Natalie and Konrad are occupied by the description of their "help" above for about 40 minutes, max (40 minutes is usually enough time for me to do the vacuuming, but not today).  After that, there starts to be a slow and steady stream of screaming "mine!" "he hit me!" "she took it from him!" etc.  All the while I have the vacuum running, so I don't have a clue what actually happened.

Finally, I told Lukas, "I have a little more vacuuming to do, and I cannot be turning off the vacuum every two seconds to solve all the problems.  I need you to keep the peace here!"

I heard Konrad playing the piano as I turned on the vacuum.  Then 10 seconds later I saw Lukas running to get a hat for Natalie and then to get the toy piano.

Then I saw this and had to snap a picture.  Lukas kept the peace:  I'm sure that Natalie came and wanted to play the piano that Konrad was playing, and probably also wanted to take his hat (which Konrad asked for because Lukas was wearing a hat while playing the guitar). So Lukas got a hat and a piano for Natalie and everyone was happy.

There was GREAT noise, like cats dying, when I turned off the vacuum.  But it was music to my ears.  And I didn't have to listen to it, because the vacuum drowned out the sound!
