On the day after her birthday, Natalie got to have a little celebration at school (they sung to her and she got to wear the crown). I talked to the teacher about bringing a treat for everyone, and she said, "If you do it, don't tell me." Apparently the only parties they're allowed to have are a "holiday party" and an "end of the year party". So I decided to avoid the stress for both of us and not bring anything.
And this is what Konrad was doing on the last day that he was two years old (brag alert!): putting a new 48-piece puzzle together that says "ages 4+". After seeing how much Natalie has learned from puzzles (her alphabet, her numbers...besides spatial reasoning and patience), I am a firm believer in the power of puzzles.
