I have to say that I am much more comfortable with him learning to mow with an electric lawn mower...less power than a gas mower. And it's easier for him to learn on electric since it doesn't have to get a pull every time he forgets and lets go of the power on the handle.

I'm mostly just impressed that you have green grass in February!!! We haven't had green in our yard (other than our dill plant that just keeps growing) since October, I think.
California = mowing grass year round! But no snow blowing!
He mowed about 90% of the yard, but had a hard time keeping the power pressed, and making a pattern
