Spring Break Part 1

Yes, we are the last people on the planet to take Spring Break (Natalie's school is also the last to start and the last to finish, so why should we be surprised that her Spring Break is after everyone else's?)  We schedule our homeschooling Spring Break to coincide with Natalie's break so we could all do something fun together.

This Spring Break was divided into two parts:  first we visited my sister Patrice, and Patrick.  On the way, we stopped at Descanso Gardens to see my other sister Chris, and Jim.  Here's one picture of our family that was captured before the battery died.  What a beautiful garden...it is definitely all about the flowers and there are soooo many flowers in bloom right now!

The theme of the first part of the trip was the camera battery dying OR us forgetting to bring the camera.  Tom and Patrick took Lukas and Konrad to the Ventura County Fairgrounds to watch dirt track car races from go-carts all the way up to midget-class cars...but no pictures.  No pictures of the fun afternoon we spent at the pool.  But we did remember the camera when we went to the park and the harbor!

Doesn't Lukas look like he's on Spring Break?!

Konrad can climb anywhere!

Natalie is figuring out which ladder she will climb next.

Auntie Patrice is definitely keeping up with the kids.

 Dominik is so cute!

Happy brothers.

Patrice and Cindy chatting.

Then we went to the harbor for lunch.  Lukas caught a mermaid!

 Natalie rides a whale.

I can't decide who I like better in these two pictures:  Dominik or Konrad.

Dominik tried on a few hats.

But I think he liked that big scoop of ice cream the best!

Thanks to Patrice and Patrick, and Chris and Jim, for a great visit!  We had so much fun and can't wait to come back.

Check back later this week to find out what we did the second half of Spring Break!
