Dinner at Costco

One of Lukas' favorite things is to get pizza from Costco, so sometimes I plan our Costco trip on an evening Tom won't be home for dinner. Tonight Tom is at a deacon meeting for our church so we went to Costco and of course, began with a trip to the potty. I don't remember if I've mentioned this here, but Lukas loves to use/inspect the toilets at all the places we go. At lunch today, we had to go twice because there were two toilets in the ladies room...he wants to use each of them. I tried to get him to use the same one we used the first time, but he insisted on using the other one. At Costco, there are about 8, but I insist that we use the handicapped stall so I can fit the shopping cart with Natalie in it.

Our "regular" is to share a slice of pepperoni pizza (he eats about 1/4 of it), two cups of water, and a strawberry sundae. I feel like a homeless person with all the extras I ask for: "Could you slice the pizza with a little slice for my son and could I have an extra plate, an extra spoon, two water cups and some hot peppers"? After we're finished with the pizza, I put ice cream and strawberries in one of the water cups so he can serve himself.

Tonight the fun event was that Natalie ate quite a bit (for her) of ice cream. For the past two months, I've always given her a very small taste of ice cream at Costco, and she has always coughed and gagged it up. Tonight (the first time we'd eaten dinner at Costco in about a month), she ate ice cream with never a cough! It almost brought tears to my eyes. She wanted more and more (of course), and she could handle it. One of the challenges of feeding her is that she doesn't open her mouth very wide, but tonight I could see the back of her tongue when she opened her mouth, she was so eager to eat more ice cream.
