Is it hot or is it cold?

This morning while getting dressed for our walk, I thought I would wear shorts because yesterday it was quite warm during our walk. I happened to glance at Tom's thermometer display, which he keeps at the bedside, and saw that it was 48 degrees outside. Not shorts weather! But when I tried to get Lukas to wear a jacket over his short sleeves, he refused. He wanted to wear mittens, but no jacket. I took the jacket along in the stroller, but didn't force him to wear it (although I asked him several times on the walk if he wanted it...no!) because I'm sort of glad that he can go outside in 48 degrees without a jacket.

Later when it was time to feed Natalie, I got set up to feed her on the deck while Lukas was playing outside, and it was frying hot! Lukas got his pants sandy in the sandbox, to I changed him into shorts for our lunch trip, and put Natalie in shorts and a cute top too. We had lunch with Rebecca, my former coworker at OCWD who has also moved on to another job.

Lukas immediately announced he had to go potty, and I excused myself with "he's in underwear now," and Rebecca said, "I know, I read your blog." Of course, I knew she read this blog, but now I have a new dilemma...what do I talk about with people if I'm blogging all the information of our daily life? I talk about you! But what if I don't know if you're reading my blog? I'll just have to wait for you to ask questions. So my whole manner of communicating may change, or you may just have to interrupt me and say, "I know, I read your blog." Sort of like the parent who tells the same story over and over again?

Anyway, it's 86.5 degrees outside now, and Lukas asked to be changed into his new heavy fleece sweatshirt and pants for his nap. It probably feels comfortable because the house is still cool from the cool weather we had last week (and at night). He loves the fuzzy texture of fleece and velour.
