We visited Tom's parents for dinner tonight. Mom loves telling Lukas that he gets ice cream at her house. The last time we visited, she told him he could have a popsicle or ice cream. He chose a popsicle, then also wanted ice cream when he saw the rest of us eating it, but he didn't get any. Tonight she announced that he could have popsicle and ice cream. So he had a grape popsicle and then chocolate/chocolate chip ice cream with chocolate syrup on top. He always asks me to help him "get the juice", which means the last bit of melted ice cream in the bowl.
Mom had fun watching Tom feed Natalie by mouth. Natalie was doing great until I gave him a little bit of mashed avocado to feed her...she went ballistic and never really settled down. She's always so tired in the evening, and I think the teething thing was getting to her. (I forgot to bring the Advil!)
Good thing we visited tonight! Dad had a very small cut on his finger barely larger than a hang nail, but because of a medication he takes, it wouldn't stop bleeding. I changed the dressing twice while we were there, and then we just put a rubber glove over it to keep him from leaking. He finally agreed to go to urgent care, and Tom went with him. Tom came to their house directly from work, so with our two vehicles he could stay with Dad while I took the kids home. Whew! I'm glad that worked out so well. Dad got a couple stitches and should be fine. A very providential visit!
