As those of you who have spoken to Lukas know, he speaks amazingly well for his age. Now I sort of take for granted that he speaks, and there's not much I have to do to encourage it or correct him, because he picks up language on his own. If I tried to get him to stop talking (which I have tried!) I couldn't. I jokingly said to Sarah, Natalie's swallowing therapist (who is also a speech therapist), that I'd like to get therapy for Lukas to get him to stop talking so much. She said, "No one would help you."
The one thing that tickles me lately is a small syntax error he makes. When he's looking for something, and then finds it, he says, "There is it!" I've been correcting him for several weeks and he still hasn't changed. It seems like he didn't used to say this, but it is something that has cropped up just recently.
The other thing that we have to correct him for is using "goed" instead of "went." There are other irregular verbs where he uses "ed" for past tense, but the "goed" thing is the most frequent. I know these are both very common errors for kids, but they're still funny for us!
