The Relatives Came

We were excited to host a party for Tom's cousin K and her husband D and their twin daughters, H and S, from out of state. They came to California to try their luck at taking two-and-a-half year olds to Disneyland. Tom's parents, Uncle Olav and sister Christine and her husband Jim joined us for a barbecue and watched the kids run around. Lukas told several people as they arrived, "We have really good snacks!" (meaning the appetizers).

The Relatives Came is one of Lukas' favorite books, so he knows there's a lot of kissing and hugging that goes on with relatives. He forgot the part about sharing (toys) with the relatives, but everything worked out ok. Natalie had lots of smiles for everyone and enjoyed being fed by Aunt Christine. Lukas seemed to figure out which twin was which better than I did, correcting me on one occasion. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves...I'm sure D will have more and better pics at his site. We had a wonderful time and hope they'll visit more often!

Can you believe it? i JUST missed Karen and her husband!

Just realized they were here.

i first met Karen in 1980. Used to work together back in '82. Figured they might be with your family till time to go back to the airport.

Tell them 'hello', for me please...and to call next time so we can at least get together for lunch or something.

thank you.
