Tom took the first picture of Natalie feeding herself oatmeal. She needs help scooping and makes a big mess, but she LOVES oatmeal. Lukas loves oatmeal, too. The other day when we were at Costco, they were serving samples of oatmeal, but the samples tasted AWFUL because they didn't even put salt in the oatmeal! I put salt in it when I cook it (I make old fashioned oatmeal) and we add brown sugar at the table. Lukas kept saying that it wasn't oatmeal because it tasted so bad, but I assured him it was and said in a loud stage whisper as we passed the sample server, "she didn't put salt or sugar in it, so it doesn't taste as good as ours at home." :)
The second picture is from this morning, Natalie eating Cheerios. Both show Natalie's new glasses. Yes, they are purple, and stylish, but the important feature is that they are made of titanium and they bend every which way: at the temples and at the nose bridge. They will also stand up better to Natalie when she takes them off her face, because they're so bendable. Tom and I decided that even though her previous pair were pretty safe, we wanted to get the safest possible frames for her since she will undoubtedly be falling a lot as she learns to walk. This was more than a quick decision because of the significant expense of the frames (and the lenses...they're Transitions lenses, which are very expensive).
Anyway, the glasses are great and we're really happy with them. Natalie seems to like them too!
