Madly getting ready for baby...

The stereotypical pregnant mom approaching delivery is madly cleaning her house. I guess I'll do that tomorrow, but today the thing that I couldn't get out of my mind was the valance and sheers for the kids' room.

Their room has a roller blind that gives privacy, but it's a blackout blind, so there is no natural light when it's down. And the room is in the front of the house, so having the blind up means no privacy. So today before lunch we went to a store and bought sheers and curtain rods. Then after naps I sewed the material I bought into a valance to match the space theme of the room (see the sparkly stars in the blue background?) Unfortunately, I only bought enough material for the valance on one window: I'll have to go back to get more for the other window, but this is the more important window.

After dinner, Tom mounted the hardware and put up the sheers and valance on the main window. Whew! I am SO glad that's done...it's been really bugging me.

The rug for the room was supposed to arrive last week, but I learned it's on backorder until January. I can still cancel the order if we find a different rug, but somehow I don't think I'll have time to look for another one...
