She IS independent!

This week Caryn, Natalie's PT, gave me her recent developmental scores. At 25 months of age, Natalie is mostly 14-15 months developmentally, and scoring at 10 months in two areas. In each case, she told me why Natalie maxed out where she did, and what developmental shortfalls were keeping her from scoring higher. In one area (social/emotional, I think), Caryn said Natalie scored as she did because she doesn't show independence: Natalie doesn't explore and run off when in an unfamiliar place.

I told Caryn that Natalie does "run off" (well, "crawl off"). Today was a great example. Because it was raining, Ann Marie, Chris and I met at the mall play area for park day. We must have gotten up 20 times to bring Natalie back into the play area because she wanted to crawl off and explore the mall.

Go Natalie, I think...I never would have thought that I would rejoice at my child running off. Yes, I will need your prayers when Natalie starts walking, and I will have to keep a much closer eye on her as her speed increases!
