Forks

Here's a look at Natalie eating chunks of pear at lunch today. We are SO pleased with the improvement she's shown in self feeding. She still tends to over-stuff her mouth, but we're able to put a plate on her highchair and she won't immediately throw it on the floor. She looks for the utensil (fork or spoon) to use instead of immediately using her fingers to pick up oatmeal, for example. With pears, she tends to squish them with her fingers, so I'm glad she likes using a fork.
Tom came home later for lunch, after the kids had already eaten, so while he was eating, Natalie came over to scrounge off his plate (she loves to eat so much that she will find food on the floor and beg for food that others are eating). He held her while he was eating celery sticks, and she seemed to want one, so he gave her one. She took a bite as Tom took a bite from his, and she chewed it all up. She didn't eat more celery, because then she saw the pretzel sticks, and that's one of her favorites. But it's exciting that she eats hard food and healthy food!

Oh my goodness, she is too precious. I love how determined she is to get that pear!
