Our family is soooo excited that Julia's family has moved closer, so now we only live a 30-minute drive away from each other. Today we visited Julia and her sisters, Alexa and Keira and mom Catherine, for a play date at their new home.
Here's a picture of Julia and Natalie together today, and a picture from April 2006, when they first met. Julia was the first child with RTS we met (besides Natalie, of course!) and I remember how encouraging it was to see how well Julia was doing. Catherine was so encouraging to me, too, going through the process of learning and accepting a special needs child, and continues to be as we transition to the school district. It's ironic that their birthdays are almost exactly 3 years apart...the picture of Julia as a 3-year old really seems a lot like Natalie now.
Oh yeah, there were other kids there too. Lukas and Alexa played together a lot, and Keira and Konrad made eyes at each other at the beginning, then decided their moms were more interesting. And Julia and Natalie played together quite a bit...Julia kept asking, "Where's Natalie?"
What a fun day! We can't wait to get together with them again soon!
