Happy New Year!

We may have a new New Year's Eve tradition in our family.  After a fun meal of fondue, we ate the gingerbread house!  Lukas had been asking for several days when we were going to eat it.  But with it being Christmas and all, we already had a ton of other desserts and left-over desserts to eat, so I was in no hurry to start on the gingerbread house.

But yesterday we finally finished the chocolate cake from Christmas Day, so the gingerbread house was fair game.  Tom and I were pleasantly surprised that the gingerbread was not hard as a rock and was actually quite edible.

Natalie enjoyed eating a bite from each of the three pieces she broke her portion of the house into.

Konrad is holding a piece of gingerbread and a lollipop, while he's asking Lukas for a gummy bear.

Sugar overload!  But we probably only ate about 1/3 of the house before everyone had had their fill.  It was a fun end of the meal...now it's time for baths!

Happy New Year from The Happy Ones!  We wish you a blessed and joyous 2010!
