The other day when I was folding laundry I commented, "Natalie and Konrad's pants are the same length!" I should not have been so surprised, because they are almost the same height...I guess the reason it didn't click for me is that Natalie wears a size 5 and Konrad wears a 2T. But Natalie's size 5 long pants are actually capris...thank goodness capris are still in style...I don't know what I'd do if she were a boy! Natalie's pants are on the left in this picture and Konrad's are on the right. I love the capris that she has where the roll in the hem is not sewn in...these are sewn in and while they fit her great at the waist, they're already starting to be a little short...I need to detach the roll so they can be longer.
When Konrad outgrew his 24 month pants, I tried to put him in 3T pants (because there's no difference between 24 month and 2T, right?) But he is so slender that he can't keep 3T pants up (and they're a little long). So I had to buy 2T pants for him (which are actually longer than 24 month) to fit his slim build. When Lukas was Konrad's age, he went from 24 month pants to 3T pants, and I just rolled up the hems...but Lukas was a little chunkier than Konrad is. I guess Konrad already has the long torso of Tom and me, because he does wear a 3T shirt well.
And my latest shoe purchase found me buying size 9.5 for Konrad and 8.5 for Natalie...his feet are already bigger than hers! Not that their feet are actually those sizes...I always buy a half size larger, especially since Natalie won't wear the sandals for a few more months (it's raining again today! whoo hoo!)

Too funny Cindy! Can Natalie wear pants that have a true waist? I guess she can:). Emma can really only wear elastic waist. I still put jeans on her occasionally, but her tummy is bigger (which I think is partly liver) and she Has.no.butt!! So, she wears a lot of dresses with tights or leggings:). She is only in a size 4 right now though....and a size 8 shoe. I was laughing the other day because Owen is already in a size 6...and he's not 2 yet:). It's funny to me how different they can all be:).
Angie, Natalie wears pants that have an elastic waist AND little tabs on the inside to make the waist tighter (in effect, making it more elastic). Yep, no butt on this girl either...typical RTS, I think.
I think that 24 month size clothing isn't as long in the torso as 2T. Toddler clothes have more room for the chubby tummy toddlers have.
Holy cow, you have big kids! LOL At least in proportion to mine! =) We have very tall people and very short people in our family so we'll see where the kids end up. Andrew's feet (at 3 1/2 yrs.) are a size 7! Austin (at 7 1/2yrs.) just a few weeks ago started fitting into 5T pants. They're really long but that's the story of my life with "little" boys.
I agree with the 'no butts' comment with kids with RTS! Austin is completely butt-less! I'm constantly tugging his pants up, even if they're really tight on the waist, they travel down along with the pull up!
These comments made me laugh. It's hard because most all pants are too long on Noah. He wears a 2T but they still need to be rolled up. He does have some 3T pants but those are ridiculously long although fit around his waist.. And he can still fit in 24 months comfortably.. he has no butt either. Maybe he should start doing some squats.. ha ha
I would like to donate part of my butt to all of our kiddos:). Even the elastic jeans with the tabs don't fit Em though....I think her tummy is just "that" much bigger??? How much does Natalie weigh???
Let me know where to sign up to donate butt, Angie! Natalie weighed 35 pounds and was almost 38" at her 4 year check up last month.
