Lukas and I looked out in horror to see trash cans floating in our street (the ones that had been emptied by the trash truck already). The trash cans that were still full hadn't floated away, thankfully. But an empty one was blocking the storm drain (you can see it right next to the arrow sign), so I went out and pulled it out, and pulled a few others out of the street. Lukas wanted to go swimming but I told him it was ice cold.
And Tom lost a lot of wood chips from his newly-completed xeriscape landscaping project on the side yard (where is that blog post, Tom?) so he might need to rethink how close the wood chips are to the curb. As I said, it's never flooded above our curve.
Thankfully our home was not damaged...our home is on the high side of the storm drain. The homes on the other side of the storm drain did have some water damage.
