I don't think I've mentioned it before, but my dad was colorblind. When Lukas was a baby, we wondered if he would inherit this condition (it can be passed through the daughters--my sister and I--to our sons...my sister has two sons, one of whom is colorblind). Since he was very verbal at a young age, we were quickly able to determine that Lukas is not colorblind.
But now we're starting to ask the question about Konrad. He's less verbal than Lukas was at this age, and he also gets other things mixed up (like he says "more" when he means "all done" on the swing). We've worked on colors with him, but he doesn't seem to be picking them up in a consistent manner.
Except one color.
He consistently identifies orange. He has an orange car that he always says, "Orange!" with, and he often identifies an orange crayon. Is it because he loves the fruit, orange? Or he can see the color better? Or he just decided to learn orange first?
I hope it's the start of identifying other colors, but only time will tell!
