Lukas has been taking Taekwondo since the first week of January, and I am pleased to report that he is making great progress.
Now progress can be measured in many ways, like belts and stripes (he has two stripes on his beginner white belt--he needs eight stripes to progress to a yellow belt). Cindy and I are also measuring Lukas' progress by how well he is paying attention, and by how few times he sticks his fingers in his bodily orifices during class time.
I leave work early one day a week to watch Lukas at class and to take him home (he goes to class three days a week). Today I took the camera and was rewarded by a very good training session. Usually there are six to eight children in a class, but today only three came, so Lukas got even more practice time and attention than usual.
All was not perfect, and the master did make him get into the "push-up position". But the video and the other photo show that he's learning how to kick well.
It's been a great learning experience for him, since he is not naturally gifted in sport, and he is constantly distracted by everything. But we see much progress in all areas, and we're really happy.
