A Boy by Any Other Name

I had two childhood nicknames that I can recall. "Thomas Jefferson" was my grandfather's name for me, and almost everyone called me "Tommy" until I started elementary school. There was no lasting legacy with either of these names, and I call all of my friends by their given or common names.

Why am I obsessed with giving Dominik a nickname? All of my first three kids have/had nick names that I use(d) frequently. Lukas' was "Little Man". Natalie has been blessed with three regularly used names; "Sweet Pea", "Doodle Bug" and "Tweedle Beetle" (please note, Cindy only uses Sweet Pea). Konrad still is "Boo-Boo". What do I call Dominik?

I borrowed my nicknames from others, TV or books. Little Man from one of my sisters' sons. I think Doodle Bug comes from my past love of the Simpsons and the character Ned Flanders (it sometimes comes out "doodley doodley". Tweedle Beetle comes from the Dr. Seuss book Fox in Sox. And Boo-Boo comes from the Yogi Bear cartoons. While discussing my desire for a nickname for Dominik with Lukas, he offered me all rights and privileges to reuse Little Man on Dominik.

So far that is my only idea. It is familiar. But I think he still needs something that is personalized. Maybe I just need to wait for him to be more animated.
