Yesterday was THE day Lukas has been waiting for, since he started taekwondo back in January. He finally earned his yellow belt! He has been talking about this day for months, and it was earned with much effort and persistence. Tom and I are so proud of Lukas for continuing to work at taekwondo, even though it's not a skill that comes naturally for him.
Look at that concentration during his poomsae test!
Lukas breaking the board at the end of his test. Until this point, he has only practiced on a plastic board that comes apart...this is the first time he's actually broken a wooden board.
His new yellow belt is three feet long, but for Lukas, he's grown three feet taller.
Konrad is proud of Lukas' accomplishment:
So is Natalie!
Here's Lukas posing with his new belt and the board he broke.
And what could be more American than celebrating at Lukas' favorite Lebanese restaurant after his taekwondo yellow belt testing?
Great job Lukas! We're so proud of you!

Wow Lukas, that's a great accomplishment! Your training and hard work paid off! You should sign and date your board and hang it on your wall :)
Way to go Lucas! Lucas, you look great breaking that board! Kelly F
