We enjoyed a fabulous drive to Lincoln. We've been amazed and thankful at being blessed with interesting stops along the way for the kids to run and play while I feed Dominik. First we stopped at a Colorado welcome center where Tom broke out the frisbees for the kids to chase. Gothenburg, NE has a Pony Express Museum, inside an old Pony Express building, with a nice playground right next to it. We also enjoyed driving around the town of Gothenburg, our first real taste of a Midwest town.
And we arrived at our hotel in Lincoln with time to swim in the pool (working this time!) before crashing into bed at 8:30 p.m. local time. This was only 6:30 p.m. California time, but everyone was tired and no one had any problem getting to sleep. Shortly after 2 a.m., Tom and I were awakened by a severe thunder and lightning storm. Tom got his thunderstorm! He's been looking forward to seeing a good one...and hopefully we'll see more, including one where he could actually enjoy it better than at 2 a.m.
