Our Home School group planned an outing this last week to an "adventure park". Because of some last minute changes to Cindy's schedule I volunteered to take Lukas for what turned out to be an awesome day of fun.
What is an adventure park? From what we were told, the kids could build forts with scrap wood and play in mud. OK, mud, wood and ten minutes of Dad signing disclaimers and legal waivers before Lukas gets to play. When we arrived at the gate to the park, there was a simple storage building, and summer staff taking money and explaining the rules. Two minutes later we were in! Did I mention that Lukas was very excited about going? I asked Lukas what he wanted to do and he said, "Get muddy!" And that is the first thing he did. His friend Thomas soon joined him and the boys spent the next two and half hours poling their "boats" in the muddy lake, walking across the rope bridge, sliding down the water slide into the mud hole, and building "forts".
That night Lukas asked Cindy if the adventure park was only open that one day. She said that it was open all Summer. She said his eyes widened and a smile of wonder grew on his face. He was thinking aaaaaalllllllllll Summer.

I'm so glad you were able to take him, Tom. I can tell by the pictures (and by his talking about it afterward) that he had a VERY fun time.
