The frozen beach

This morning after homeschool, we arrived at the beach at about 10:15.  It was sunny at home, but it wasn't a perfect beach day because the sun didn't burn through the coastal fog until about 11 a.m.  It was cold and windy.

Here's a picture Tom took looking back at me huddled with Dominik, trying to keep both of us warm (Konrad had visited to find another shovel, I guess).

But the older kids couldn't be kept out of the water!

Tom helped the kids build a sand mound, stopping every minute or so to bring Natalie back out of the surf.

Eventually the sun came out, which made it seem warmer...but then it became more windy!  Note to self:  next time, check the beach weather before we head out so I can wear a sweatshirt and pants!
It was a fun day, and the sun-warmed car was a welcome comfort when we returned.

I'll take cold and windy right now. Sick of the Florida humidity. The beach isn't even enjoyable at this time of year unless it is sunset.
