A day at the beach

We don't visit the beach as often as we'd like, considering how close we live...because the whole four-sandy-kids-in-bathing-suits is such a production.  But when Pete and Betsy invited us to join them at the beach for the day, we immediately agreed...and we had such a great time!

Our kids love playing with their kids: Elijah, Luke, Ruth and John...and the adults love catching up too!

John and Dominik sharing the sand toys.

Elijah helping me with Dominik's first standing encounter with ocean waves.

Lukas went down the beach, collecting shells.

Natalie played in the waves, and then spent most of the rest of the time counting grains of sand.

Konrad ran with Tom to tell me he found a feather!  The joy of being three!

Tom and Dominik.

This is what Natalie looks like after she's been counting grains of sand.  She doesn't seem to mind it!

Dominik looking like a nestling, opening his mouth in anticipation of nectarines and plums.

Hey, three kids in one shot!

After the sand, Natalie blew bubbles in the water bucket.

Konrad build a little fort and enjoyed the water incursions.

All the kids, with a sand-snowman they built (with some help by Dads, I'm sure!)

Let's go back soon, before we forget how!
