Laid to rest

This past week, we had the final celebration of Grandpa George's life as his earthly remains were laid to rest at Ft. Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego.  Grandma Alice beat him there by six weeks, but since Grandpa George served in the military, Tom and his siblings had the option of an internment ceremony for him.  It was so special!  Make sure to see the video at the end...

The lone bugler played taps so beautifully.  The only other sound as fitting was the take-off of Navy jets from the nearby Naval Base San Diego.

The Navy seamen.

Unfolding the flag, to fold it again.

Really, we were paying attention!

Natalie kept herself occupied with Princess Pea.

Dominik was ready to explore afterwards.

Grandpa George's family who attended this memorable event.

The view of San Diego Bay from their final resting place.

Tom was able to capture the flag folding and presentation on video.  Tom's oldest sister, Patrice, received the flag.  This is such a special few minutes.  You will have to turn the sound all the way up to catch his words at the very end (if you turn the sound up before the end, you will also hear Natalie and Dominik chatting very clearly).
