Where have we been?

Yikes!  We're back...from internet blackout!  We lost our internet connection on Monday, thought the DSL company was shipping a modem...they cancelled the shipment without telling me...Tom ran to the store to get a modem, and we're back in business.

I have to say that a short (is 3 days short?) internet blackout has been good for me...but I have gotten so used to looking things up on line, that not having the internet as a resource has been really odd.  Sort of like I've been camping, instead of actually living in our house!

Anyway, to update everyone, Natalie's been doing well in school (today is her 6th day of K).  The aide is great, the teacher is great...we're still figuring out how to communicate, but the kids have already figured out the morning schedule for walking to school, so that's a relief.  So far, everything's good!  Natalie still hasn't used the toilet at school yet (she resists using the toilet with new people, and at new places) but I'm hopeful that will come soon.  The picture is of Natalie with her feet wrapped up in VHS tape...that's another blog post!

Lukas and Konrad are doing great with school at home.  Since Natalie has been in school, I've started Konrad with "Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons."  He's doing well so far, and he's especially motivated to learn to write, so that's fun (he likes to do scribbles and tell us what he wrote).  It's all about keeping up with Lukas!

Lukas started his first day at a new-to-us one-day-a-week school for homeschoolers.  He's taking music, art and PE, and he loves it!  This school has many more kids his age, so we're excited about making new friends, who live closer to us.  Lukas is doing great at home with reading, math, science and history...we really love the curriculae we're using!

And Dominik!  He's getting into everything (like Tom's glasses, above)...but he actually started "helping" me with laundry.  Here's my 16-month-old putting dirty laundry in the washing machine...youngest age I've ever tried, I think!

But just because I wasn't blogging, doesn't mean I wasn't taking pictures and video!  Check back again soon (today?) for more pics and videos...

So glad to hear from you. I had actually looked to see if I could find an email address to make sure nothing was wrong. Don't know you in person, but your's is one of my favorite blogs and you're missed when I don't get to read about your family.

Sounds like everything is going well!! Natalie will start using the bathroom at school soon, I'm sure - it's still such a new process for her (relatively), so it's just an adjustment, as you well know. It took Stephen MONTHS to go at school after he was potty trained, if I recall. Now it's not an issue of not wanting to go, but he usually just doesn't have to while he's at school. Luckily it's only a few hours.

Can you send Dominik over to help me with my laundry, please? I just can't seem to keep up!!!
