Natalie snuck up to the fort, which always makes me nervous...she should have someone guarding her to make sure she doesn't fall. She's pretty good at getting up (she often makes it up before we notice) but she definitely needs help coming down. Here's Esmeralda posing with Natalie.
Angelica helping Jesus Jr. on the slide. He is such a happy little guy with a fun personality and brings so much joy to everyone who meets him!
I suddenly noticed Natalie had written all these numbers on the fort wall, without prompting! So exciting! Usually she only scribbles unless we prompt her to write something specifically. She did this on her own!
Yeah, I'm a first grader now, so I will do things like that if you aren't looking!
We got the kids to pose on the step. Lukas wasn't feeling well and spent most of the evening in bed, and Dominik is in his "no pictures" phase.
Then they settled down for a few videos: Signing Times and Veggie Tales.
So what do you do on the first day after school is out? SLEEP IN and then practice a little writing and reading. Natalie did so great writing this morning, it encourages me to make it possible for her to write every day so she doesn't lose even a tiny bit of the skills she's fought so hard for this past year. We also worked on math flash cards. She gets all the 0 + #...but she doesn't get much more than that. I'm starting with 1 + # and trying to help her get that concept. If you ask her what number comes after any number, she will tell you, but she doesn't understand yet that that is the same as 1 + #.
Just a lazy summer day! Play-doh, puzzles and Legos. And a lot of running around and fun learning.

Looks like a fun day! We are really struggling with math and counting too right now...
